Michele Rae Photography

After losing all family photos in a fire I started taking pictures…..lots and lots of pictures. Nothing else felt more important to me at the time and I never left home without my camera. I took it to work and everywhere I went with my three sons. I found myself taking a lot of photos at sporting events. Since I was raising three boys this is where I spent most of my free time. That is when I fell in love with photography. There is no better place than a field or an arena filled with dozens sometimes hundreds of people to photograph.

At first I was photographing my boys and soon I was asked by moms and dads to photograph for them as well.   I soon realized there is so much more going on at a game field other that the actual game. I started to notice and photograph things like the fans reactions, the kid on the bench looking left out, the little brother mocking the cheerleaders and the guy sleeping under his hat oblivious to all that was going on around him. These images are often more interesting that capturing number 22 entering the end zone (although I do still love the classic sports shots).

During this time I decided that I could turn my love for photography into my new career so I quit my day job and went back to school to gain all of the skills needed. I spent the next three years as a full time student of photography and loved every minute of it. I studied and practiced all types of photography including portraiture, wedding, event, editorial, photojournalism, digital imaging and more. I graduated from The New England School of photography with a major in portraiture/events and today I photograph all types of events and portraits and I love my job. When I go to work I get to be a part of a celebration or happy occasion!

My goal is to be YOUR photographer whether you are planning a celebration or want some new portraits for any occasion.
